The Hair Fans' Hall of Fame - 2013

#HOF

The Class of 2013 received strong backing from Hair Fans - and when about three weeks of voting ended, four new women were added to your Hall!

Class of 2013 Finalists

CONNIE BRITTON - INDUCTED.

"Rule Brittonia!" declared one voter of this TV actress -- and 89 percent of them agreed, giving her the highest level of support of any finalist.

CRYSTAL GAYLE - INDUCTED.

After falling short by wide margins twice, a group of fans seemed to vote en masse for the singer this time. She gained 79 percent backing, with supporters calling her "confident.... beautiful.... stunning hair.... always a long hair lover's favorite."

CARRIE UNDERWOOD - INDUCTED.

A country music superstar and Crown Award champion winner fought off extension complaints, gaining 78 percent backing in her second try for the Hall.

RITA HAYWORTH - INDUCTED.

The "love goddess" of classic movies becomes the third woman of that era to enter the Hall, winning 72-percent support.

KYRA PHILLIPS.

A longtime news anchor with the CNN networks had the closest call, with voters debating whether her styles are "classy" and "professional" or "very ordinary" and "average". She was above the two-thirds majority line for a while, but faded late and wound up missing the Hall with only 63-percent support.

(Our separate Veterans Committee considered several candidates for 2013, but none received the required 60-percent majority for induction.)

Vote totals: Britton 66-8, Gayle 170-45, Hayworth 48-19, Phillips 44-26, Underwood 46-13.
